Five youths charged in connection with vandalism at Galashiels church
A 12-year-old boy is among five youths charged in connection with vandalism at a church in Galashiels.
It follows damage to a building in Stirling Street - home of Our Lady and Saint Andrew's Roman Catholic church - shortly before 8pm on Monday night.
Police say four boys and one girl, the oldest being just 14 - will all be reported to the youth justice authorities.
A spokesperson said: "The incident involved damage caused to a number of windows at a church on Stirling Street around 7.50pm on Monday, May 29th.
"Four boys, aged 14, 14, 12 and 12, and one girl, aged 13, have been charged. They will all be reported to the youth justice authorities."
