Boy, 14, charged following 'armed robbery' in Galashiels

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery in Galashiels.

A vape shop in the town's High Street was targeted in the alleged knife-point raid around 10.40am this morning (Wednesday).

Police say there are no reports of any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a robbery with a weapon at a store on High Street, Galashiels, around 10.40am on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024.

“There were no reports of any injuries and a 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection.

"A report will be sent to the relevant authority.”
