Vile cowards! Family of vulnerable man found injured in Galashiels make personal plea for information
The family of a man found injured in Galashiels at the weekend have branded his attackers "vile cowards" - and are making a personal plea to anyone with information to come forward.
The 24-year-old, who's been described as "vulnerable", was released from hospital last night (Monday) after being assaulted by a group of at least four youths in the town’s Greenbank Street overnight on Saturday.
It's understood he was heading to a local nightclub when he was set upon - and was found injured in the early hours of Sunday morning, around 25 past midnight.
The brother of the man, who we’re not naming to protect his identity, says the attack had left the victim with "permanent damage".

Another is described as male, of large build, with short hair. He was wearing a black jumper and trousers.
The third male was wearing a white t-shirt and had a black rucksack.
A fourth male had blonde curly hair and was dressed in black clothing.
However, it's believed as many as seven people could have been involved in the attack and police are appealing for anyone with information, or anyone who thinks they recognise the description of the people involved, to come forward.
