E-bikes worth more than £10,000 stolen during Peebles break-in

Two electric bikes worth a total of more than £10,000 have been stolen from an address in Peebles.

It follows a break-in to a shed in the town's Glen Road, sometime between December 21st and January 8th.

It's the latest in a series of bike thefts in the Borders in recent years.

In June 2022, nine e-bikes were also taken following a break-in to a van at the Macdonald Hotel car park in nearby Cardrona.

One of the e-bikes taken in the latest raid is described as a grey Kalkhoff Entice 1.B move international, and the other is an orange Specialized S-Works Turbo Creo SL EVO.

Constable Scott Horsfall, from Police Scotland, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who has any information or who witnessed anything that could assist us to come forward.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have private CCTV footage or dash cam footage which could help to get in touch.”

It's the second break-in at Glen Road in a matter of weeks. Jewellery was stolen during an earlier raid which happened sometime between October 30th and November 17th.
