A 34-year-old man has appeared in court in the Scottish Borders following a report of an armed robbery at the Morrisons petrol station in Earlston.
It follows a police appeal for information into an incident which unfolded in the Melrose Road area around 7pm on Sunday.
Cash was allegedly taken in the raid which, according to police, left a member of staff shaken.
As well as a charge of assault and robbery, Wayne Todd is also accused of an attempted robbery, the theft of a motor vehicle, and two counts of being in possession of a bladed weapon.
He is also alleged to have committed a further theft and to have behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.
