Around 70 bales destroyed in suspicious blaze in Earlston

Around 70 bales have been destroyed in a fire on a farm in Earlston.
Police are appealing for information following the blaze, which happened around 6.40pm last night (Saturday).
The fire, which was put out by fire crews, is the latest in a series of wilful-fire-raising in our region in recent weeks.
"A massive stack" of straw bales - worth around £8,000 - was found alight at the entrance to Heiton on September 1st.
A package delivered to the doorstep of a property in Selkirk's Shawburn Road was set alight - causing significant damage to the building's door - on September 18th.
On September 27th, a car was deliberately set on fire at Braehead in Coldingham.
And, on August 25th, a car was torched outside a home in Windyknowe Road, Galashiels.

Referring to the latest incident, Detective Constable Liam Myers, from Police Scotland, said: "Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of the fire.
“We are carrying out a review of CCTV to identify who is responsible.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 3126 of Saturday, October 5th, 2024."
