Last updated 13th Aug 2024
A 77-year-old woman is among four people to appear in court after police unearthed a cannabis farm in Earlston.
Rosemary Douglas, who gave an address in Berwickshire, and three men - believed to be of Vietnamese origin - have been charged with being concerned in the supply and production of the Class B drug at a property in the town.
They are also accused of breaching the Electricity Act.
All four made no plea when they appeared in private at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
While Douglas was released on bail until her next court appearance, the three men - 22-year-old Van Bui, who gave an address in Edinburgh; 39-year-old Trong Nguyen and 29-year-old Dinh Phan, both of no fixed abode; were committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Thursday, August 8th, a cannabis cultivation was discovered within a property in Earlston. Enquiries are ongoing into this recovery.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
It's the latest in a series of cannabis farms - estimated to be worth a total of more than £3 million - unearthed in the Scottish Borders over the past year.
