Man charged following complaints school bus driver 'watched porn' while picking up pupils

A man has been charged by police following complaints a school bus driver was allegedly watching pornography while picking up pupils in the Scottish Borders.

Police Scotland said it received a report of "inappropriate behaviour" in the Denholm area on Friday, September 20th.

Officers launched a probe to establish any criminality and have now confirmed a 54-year-old man will now be subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: : “On Friday, September 20th, we received a report of inappropriate behaviour which happened in the Denholm area.

"A 54-year-old man has been arrested and charged. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

It is understood the bus was on its way to Jedburgh Grammar Campus.

A Scottish Borders Council spokesperson said: "The council alerted Police Scotland promptly following concerns being raised with school staff by a small number of pupils and we note that an individual has now been charged.

"As the allegations relate to the conduct of an individual there is no plan to review the operator's contract at this time.

"Any further comment at this time is not appropriate."
