It's the latest in a series of thefts in our region in recent weeks.

Four off-road motorcycles were stolen during a break-in at a garage belonging to a residential property in the Cockburnspath area sometime overnight on January 22nd.

They included a green Kawasaki KDX 200cc; a red and white Yamaha YZ 125, fitted with white hand guards and lights; an orange and white KTM 200 exc; and a black KTM 200 exc.

The bikes were last seen being taken through a farm field towards the A1107.

Photographs of the stolen bikes have been released by Police Scotland.

A few nights earlier, a campervan was stolen from School Brae in West Linton, and attempts were made to steal a similar vehicle from the Hendersyde Park area of Kelso in the early hours of January 21st.

Motorhomes in Penicuik and Lanark were targeted around the same time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are urging motorhome and campervan owners to be vigilant and make sure their vehicles are locked and as secure as possible.

"Our advice includes fitting an alarm, using devices to immobilise the vehicle, and making sure they are kept in a safe place.

"Anyone with information about stolen vehicles should contact us on 101."
