After a weekend of partying, volunteers across the country are being encouraged to give back to their communities today, as part of a series of events to mark the King's coronation.

Coldstream is one of the towns taking part in the Big Help Out.

It has organised a giant litter pick following yesterday's picnic in the park.

Other people are being encouraged to help at charity shops, teach children to read, or call into isolated elderly people.

Susan Burnett, from Coldstream Community Trust, told Greatest Hits Radio: "We had a good turnout for the fancy dress; they had entertainment, there were some musicians playing; bouncy castles - so the kids had a great time, they loved it.

"Unfortunately it's not so nice today, but I'm impressed with the numbers who have turned up despite the rain."
