'Cocaine worth £160,000 seized' following police swoop on vehicle in Tweedbank

A 22-year-old man has appeared in court in the Borders in connection with the discovery of cocaine believed to be worth £160,000.

Police made the seizure following a search of a vehicle at the filling station in Tweedbank on Monday, around 7pm.

Danielius Pomputis has been charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

He made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private, and on petition, at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Pomputis, who gave an address in Hawick, was committed for further examination and released on bail.

The date of his next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.
