Pensioner taken to hospital following single car crash

A 75-year-old woman has been taken to Borders General Hospital following a one car crash on the A707 road, just south of Caddonfoot.

Fire crews were called out shortly after 2pm yesterday (Wednesday) after ambulance crews reported a smell of burning.

The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered, from close to the bank of the River Tweed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a one car crash which happened on the A707 near Caddonfoot at around 2.05pm on Wednesday, 31 May, 2023.

“Emergency services attended and a 75-year-old woman was taken to Borders General Hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“The road was closed while recovery was arranged.”
