'Lowest of the low!' Thieves steal clothes donated to charity

Clothing donated to charity has been stolen during a series of raids on collection bins across the Borders.
Padlocks were cut to gain access to seven containers over a five-week period, between December 6th last year and January 9th this year.
The thieves struck at Tesco in Peebles and Galashiels, B&M in Hawick, and the Co-op stores in Innerleithen, Kelso and Earlston.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
Commenting on the theft, one person said: "Stealing from charities is the lowest of the low!"
Anyone with information regarding these thefts should contact police on 101 and quote reference CR/17402/24.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information after a white Transit van was found alight in Hawick. Officers are treating the blaze as suspicious.
Firefighters were called out to St Ninians Road around 12.45am on Tuesday.

Detective Constable Joe Carmichael, from Police Scotland, said: “We are appealing for information to help trace the person or persons responsible.
“Anyone who was in the area between 11.30pm on Monday, January 22nd, and 12.45am on Tuesday, January 23rd, is asked to contact us.
“We would also like to hear from any motorists with dash-cam footage or residents with private CCTV.
“If you think you can help, contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 099 of January 23rd, 2024.”
