Police are appealing for information after a car was stolen following a break-in at a house in Peebles.

It's believed thieves took the blue Volkswagen Golf R TSI from a driveway in the town's Whitehaugh Park after forcing entry to the property and stealing the keys.

It happened sometime between 11pm on Tuesday and 3am on Wednesday (March 29th).

Officers are reviewing CCTV from the area.

Detective Constable Claire White, from Police Scotland, said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time, who may have witnessed the incident or noticed anything suspicious, to get in touch with us.

"In particular, I would ask people to think back and consider if they noticed or heard anything unusual between 11pm and 3am, did you notice anyone hanging around?

"I would also ask anyone with doorbell recording devices to check the footage during those hours, as it could have captured images which could assist in our enquiries.”
