Bike thieves target Peebles street for second time in four months
Last updated 3rd Apr 2025
Police have released images of two mountain bikes stolen during a break-in in Peebles.
Two 'Rab' branded jackets were also taken in the raid on a home in the Whitehaugh Park area in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).
One of the jackets is described as being "all black", while the other was navy blue with an orange-lined hood.
The suspects are believed to have left via the back garden door of the property, around 4.30am.
It's not the first time the street has been targeted by thieves. In December, two e-bikes were also stolen.
That theft happened just weeks after four bikes worth almost £10,000 were taken from vehicles in the Innerleithen Road area - on the opposite bank of the River Tweed.
And, in August last year, four bikes were stolen from a shipping container in Traquair.
