Four-figure sum of cash stolen during Borders break-in

A four-figure sum of cash has been stolen during a break-in at a shop in the Borders.

It happened in Chirnside's Main Street around 2.30am this morning (Tuesday).

Police have tonight issued an appeal for information.

Detective Constable Sarah Henderson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information which could assist us to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0329 of September 12th, 2023.
