Berwick welcomes first cruise ship of 2025
Last updated 2nd May 2025
Berwick has welcomed its first cruise ship of the year.
The Silver Endeavour, which can carry up to 220 passengers, is described as "the world's most luxurious expedition ship".
It's on a voyage around the UK - and is due to stop off again on Sunday, on the return leg from Edinburgh to Portsmouth, if the weather and sea conditions allow.
Tickets for the trip are being advertised on the firm's website for upwards of £8,000.
The vessel - which has previously been used for expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic and takes its name from British explorer Captain James Cook's research ship, HMS Endeavour - dropped anchor in the bay and ferried passengers ashore via tenders.

Cruise ship visits to Berwick have only been possible since 2021, following a multi-million pounds upgrade of the town's landing pontoon.
It's hoped the investment will encourage more people to stay and explore the area - and give local businesses a boost.
Visitors were handed maps of England's most northerly town as they arrived on shore today (Friday).
A spokesperson for Visit Berwick said: "A lot of passengers asked whether they would be able to explore our town after their excursion to Lindisfarne, and some have changed their minds and decided to venture into Berwick today.
"It was lovely to welcome them into Berwick, and even if they don’t have the chance to Visit Berwick, they hold our town map for next time."
The ship is due to return around midday on Sunday, before departing around 6pm.
It's not the only attraction on the Northumberland coast this week. Killer whales have also been spotted. More on that story here.
