The public have been given a first look at design options for the new Berwick Academy.
Northumberland County Council says feedback from the event will help shape the outline business case for the project.
It's part of a major shake-up of education in the area, which will see the school become a secondary, with the area's First schools transitioning into primaries.
The local authority has committed more than £50 million to the project with the final recommendations due to be presented to the council’s Cabinet in the coming months.
NCC is also in discussions with the UK government's Department for Education in a bid to secure a further £13m towards replacing the outdated academy buildings.
More than 150 people attended a public consultation event at the school earlier this week.
Bamburgh councillor Guy Renner-Thompson is the local authority's Cabinet member for Inspiring Young People. He told Greatest Hits Radio: "The community have the final say in what this project will look like.
"It's not just a school, there's community sports facilities, there's college, there's special educational needs; so this is a huge moment for Berwick and North Northumberland."
And he added: “We’d like to thank all those who took the time to come and see these initial designs from our technical advisors who have been working closely with us and the school to bring our vision for Berwick Academy to life."
