Power tools stolen during break-in at farm in Berwickshire

Power tools worth a four-figure sum of money have been stolen following a break-in at a farm near Ayton.

It happened sometime over the last three weeks.

Police are appealing for information.

Constable Mark Walters said: “Our enquiries into this incident are continuing. We are working to establish the exact time of the theft and more information on who is responsible.

“At this stage I would urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the local area over the past weeks to get in touch. I would also ask anyone with information that may assist our ongoing investigation to come forward.”

The incident happened at a farm just off the B6355 between 5pm on Friday, December 15th, and 11am on Tuesday, January 2nd.

It's not the first theft of its kind in the area in recent months.

In September, tools worth around £2,700 were stolen following a break-in to a van parked on the same road, near Ayton Castle.
