Air ambulance called to the Scottish Borders twice in one day
A mountain biker has been airlifted to hospital with a head injury following an incident at Glentress.
Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team helped evacuate the injured rider after the alarm was raised shortly before midday yesterday (Sunday).
The air ambulance, which left its base at Glasgow Airport around 11.35am, dropped the casualty off at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh around 1.40pm.
However, it returned to the Borders soon after following reports of a collision involving two motorbikes near the Scotland-England border.
The A6088 was closed between Chesters Brae and the Carter Bar around 2.30pm, with the helicopter touching down, near the scene, around ten minutes later.
However, it later returned straight to base - leaving the Borders around 5pm and arriving back at Glasgow Airport around 5.40pm.
