Man, 29, arrested after police find car overturned on A7 north of Galashiels

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with alleged road traffic offences after police found an overturned car on the A7 north of Galashiels.
Officers were on patrol on the road near the Bowland junction when they came across the vehicle shortly before 1am this morning (Sunday).
The driver was taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment before being detained by officers.
The road was partially closed for more than two hours while emergency services made the scene safe.
Police say enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.45am on Sunday (June 15th), officers came across a vehicle having overturned on the A7 at Bowland near Galashiels.
“Emergency services attended and the 29-year-old male driver of the car was taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.
“He was later arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
“The A7 was closed northbound at Bowland while emergency services were in attendance and re-opened about 3.30am.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
