Man, 74, dies following three-vehicle crash on A7 near Galashiels

A 74-year-old man has died two weeks after a three vehicle crash in the Scottish Borders.
The pensioner had been driving a silver Vauxhall Insignia on the A7, between Galashiels and Selkirk, when it was involved in a collision with a white Range Rover Evoque, and a yellow Iveco Daily van.
Emergency services raced to the scene, near Boleside, after the alarm was raised around 9.40am on Monday, September the 23rd.
The man was taken to hospital along with a 72-year-old woman, who had been a passenger in the car; and a 41-year-old woman, who had been driving the Range Rover.
The two women have since been released from hospital, but police say the man died from his injuries yesterday (Monday).

The road was closed, between Kingsknowes roundabout and the Yair turn-off, for around three hours while officers examined the scene and the wreckage was cleared.

Sergeant Jamie Humpage, from Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch if you think you can help.
“I would also appeal for anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash-cam footage that could assist to contact us.”
