There's been disruption for motorists on the morning commute after an overturned lorry blocked a busy Borders route.

The A697 is closed between Carfraemill and Greenlaw following the incident, which happened shortly before 7am this morning (Wednesday).

Police say its affecting traffic between the Lauder and Gordon turn-offs, and they expect the road to remain closed for some time, while the vehicle is recovered.

It's unclear exactly what's happened, but blustery conditions are making driving difficult in some exposed parts of the region today.
