Two people taken to hospital following crash on A68

Two people have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash on the A68, near Newtown St Boswells. 

Emergency services were called to the scene - at the junction for Eildon, south of the Ravenswood roundabout - around 7.20pm last night (Tuesday).

The cross-border route was blocked for more than two hours while the area was made safe.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.20pm on Tuesday, January 9th, to a report of a two car crash on the A68 southbound at the junction for Eildon.

“Emergency services attended and both drivers were taken to Borders General Hospital to be checked over.

“The road was closed and re-opened around 9.50pm.”
