Borders road blocked following collision between car and motorcycle

One person's been airlifted to hospital following a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in the Scottish Borders.

Emergency services raced to the scene on the A6105 near Gordon, after the alarm was raised shortly after 1pm this afternoon (Tuesday).

The road was closed between Earlston and Greenlaw while crash investigators examined the area. And motorists faced long detours.

The condition of the casualty is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.20pm on Tuesday, we were made aware of a crash involving a motorbike and a car on the A6105 near Gordon.

"Emergency services are at the scene and the road is closed."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service added: “We received a call at 1.16pm today to attend a road traffic collision on the A6105 in Gordon.

“We dispatched five ambulances and one air ambulance to the scene. We airlifted one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
