Two people taken to hospital following multi-vehicle crash on A1 near Grantshouse

Two people are being treated in hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the A1 near Grantshouse.
The road was closed both ways overnight while the wreckage was cleared.
Emergency services raced to the scene - on the southbound section of the cross-border route - after the alarm was raised shortly before 4pm yesterday afternoon (Monday).
And police say enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
One eyewitness said: "Was a really bad crash, looked serious."
Another added: "Coldingham is jammed with lorries etc getting stuck, hardly moving."
One passerby had earlier suggested as many as six vehicles could have been involved.
Another reported: "There were so many emergency vehicles going from Dunbar. I was wondering what had happened."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.40pm on Monday, police received a report of a crash involving three vehicles on the A1 southbound carriageway near Grantshouse.
“Emergency services attended and a man and a woman were taken the hospital.
“The road had to be closed for crash scene investigation work and enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances."
