Woman dies after being stabbed at Walsall railway station

It happened on Sunday at Bescot Stadium station

A 27 year old woman has sadly died following an incident at Bescot Stadium railway station on Sunday, 20 October.

Officers were called to Bescot Stadium railway station just after 11:25pm on Sunday 20 October to reports of a serious assault.

A woman was found with injuries consistent with being stabbed.

A man was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted murder following the attack.

Following the victim’s death, detectives will make an application to amend the indictment to reflect the change in the victim’s condition.

Deng Cholmajek, of Bescot Crescent, Walsall, appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 22 October and was remanded in custody and will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 19 November.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell said: “We have specialist family liaison officers supporting the victim’s family and our thoughts remain with them at this incredibly difficult time.

“I would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and an 18 year old man has now been charged and remanded in connection. We are not seeking anyone else.
