A man is in police custody this morning, accused of stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods from shops across Bilston and Wolverhampton.

The 37-year-old was arrested in the East Park area last night (3 August) by local officers investigating a series of thefts from local stores throughout the wider city.

He was brought into custody for questioning, where he remains this morning.

Police say they're working hard with local retailers and store security to identify persistent offenders and any emerging trends or hotspots.
