People in the West Midlands are being urged to prepare for snow this weekend after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for much of the UK.

The warning currently lasts for 47 hours - from 12pm on Saturday (4 Jan) to 9am on Monday (6 Jan).

The Met Office said on a statement on its website: "Heavy snow may cause some disruption over the weekend.

"There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected."

Rural communities, such as those in Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire, are at risk of being "cut off".

We're also being warned of travel disruptions, such as delays or cancellations to trains, buses, and air travel.
