Tributes left for two-year-old Smethwick crash victim
The incident happened on Saturday night.
Tributes are beginning to be left at the fatal scene in Smethwick, where a two-year-old boy lost his life.
It was on Saturday evening, when West Midlands Police launched an investigation into a collision on Dartmouth Road just before 11pm.
It involved a stolen grey Porsche Cayenne, which is believed to have been travelling from the island on Kenrick Way before it hit a Toyota.
The driver of the Porsche fled the scene.
Four adults and a child were taken to hospital, with a two-year-old boy dying at the scene.
A woman aged 29 and a 30-year-old man remain in a serious condition while another man and woman aged 30 are described as stable.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Our thoughts remain with the family of the little boy at this extremely difficult time.
“I would urge the driver of the Porsche to do the right thing and come and talk to us. They made the wrong decision to run away and I’m asking them now to make the right one.
"I also want to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t already spoken to us, or has CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch."
West Bromwich MP, Sarah Coombes, said: "It's absolutely devastating this crash.
"Particularly, because I raised this stretch of road in Parliament just a few weeks ago because it's so dangerous.
"We have cars coming and racing here on Friday and Saturday nights and it's just so selfish and dangerous.
"My heart does just go out to the family."
