The Covid-19 infection rate remains high in Telford and Wrekin, with the area remaining one of the highest in the country.

The number of new coronavirus cases in Telford and Wrekin has decreased in the last week, but continues to be above the national and regional average, the latest figures show.

As of 3 October, Telford and Wrekin is ranked 12th highest nationally in Covid-19 infection rates.

There were 863 new Coronavirus cases reported for Telford and Wrekin during the past seven days (27 September - 3 October), 73 fewer than the previous seven-day period.

There have been two further deaths reported within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test. The total number of borough deaths since the start of the pandemic is 278.
