Hundreds of bikers will take part in the annual Stephen Sutton ride out today (12 May), ahead of the 10th anniversary of the inspirational teenager's death.

The 19-year-old, from Burntwood in Staffordshire, died on 12 May 2014 of colorectal cancer and has raised millions of pounds for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Today marks the 12th ride out event held in Stephen's name and will see bikers travel from Lichfield Rugby Club, following a 27-mile route through Tamworth, Alrewas, and Kings Bromley.

They will then continue through Stephen's home town of Burntwood, which has been dressed with yellow ribbons, and finish at the Rugby Club.

Jane Sutton, Stephen's mum, told us the event has continued to grow: "It is absolutely incredible. Every year the number of bikers joining us is increasing.

"We seem to get record turnouts each year, of people either coming to the rugby club or supporting us along the route.

"The amount of people who stand at Swan Island in Burntwood cheering and waving, that is so emotional. It's not only me who feels that.

"So many of the other participants when they get off their bikes and say "that really got me that did" so so emotional to see so many people out supporting."

The ride out has so far raised £75,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
