A Shropshire man has been jailed for 32 years after he was found guilty of 21 sexual offences against children.

These include 14 counts of rape, five counts of sexual assault by penetration and two counts of child abuse.

The 45-year-old was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday (13th Dec) for 32 years.

The sentence comprises of 28 years custodial and four years on license.

Detective Constable Julia Warren, who led the investigation, said: “Scrase is a highly dangerous individual who preyed on young vulnerable girls.

“We welcome the sentence given to Scrase by the judge, but no sentence can ever take away the lifelong trauma he caused his victims.

“I would like to commend his victims for coming forward and reporting these crimes, as it takes a lot of courage and strength, and I would like to thank them for their bravery throughout the investigation and trial," she said.

Cases of rape and sexual assault can be reported on the West Mercia Police website.
