As students enter exam season, a new study space has been made available for them in Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury Abbey's announced their doors are open for anyone needing a quiet study space to prepare for exams.

With GCSEs starting this week and A levels from Monday 13th May, staff there thought it would be helpful for students to have a quiet and comfortable space to work.

Staff say there are clean toilets. WIFI, tables to use and they can even put their lunch in the fridge if they need. Located next to a bus stop and close to Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, they've already had a few students use the space for study.

Steve Swindon, parish administrator there's told us - everyone is welcome over the next few months.

He's told us, they see students pass everyday who can pop in whenever they need.

"It's not always easy to study in a college because there's lots of hustle and bustle going on. Perhaps even at home there's stuff going on or you have distractions at home. It's actually something you want to get away from."

"The exam season is going to last several weeks so it's not just today or this week we're talking about. We're talking about the month of May into the middle of June at least when exams end, just pop in."
