Murder investigation after two bodies found in South Staffordshire

A murder investigation has been launched after two bodies were found at a house in Cannock.

Police were alerted by paramedics, who attended a property on Alpine Drive in Hednesford at 12.30pm yesterday.

The bodies of a man and woman were found inside the property.

Staffordshire Police say specially-trained officers have been assigned to support their families, as investigations continue into their deaths.

In a statement, the force said: "We’ve launched a murder investigation after two bodies were discovered inside a house in Cannock.

"At about 12.30pm today (Tuesday 25 June), we were alerted by our colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service who were at an address on Alpine Drive in Hednesford.

"Sadly, the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside."

Police have also asked the public not to speculate about the deaths.
