The mother and aunt of one of the killers of Cody Fisher have been charged with assisting an offender.

Jahzeen Carpenter, 39, and Nadine Taylor, 44, are accused of helping Kami Carpenter avoid arrest in the days after the murder of Cody, who was stabbing on Boxing Day 2022.

Cody was pronounced dead at the Crane nightclub in Digbeth, Birmingham, after suffering wounds to the chest and leg.

West Midlands Police said Jahzeen Carpenter and her sister Taylor had appeared before magistrates on Tuesday charged with assisting an offender.

The two, from Dudley, were released on bail to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on October 8.

Kami Carpenter, 22, was jailed for life in April after being convicted of murder alongside Remy Gordon, 23. They blamed each other for stabbing the 23-year-old former Birmingham City academy player.

A third defendant was convicted of affray but cleared of murder.
