A man has died, after a collision on the M6 this morning (26 January).

A silver Porsche 911 Carrera hit a barrier near Junction 7 at Great Barr at around 12.15am.

A man in his 50s later died.

At this stage, police don’t believe any other vehicle was involved and the serious collision investigation unit is working to establish exactly what happened.

The northbound carriageway has since re-opened, although the slip road currently remains closed for highways repair work.

Officers say there were other motorists travelling through the area at the time and ask anyone with information, or dashcam footage, to contact them.
