Man charged over four armed robberies in Stourbridge

Police have charged a 57-year-old man following a series of armed robberies in Stourbridge last month.

Peter Marsden was arrested on suspicion of robbery, on Monday evening (4 April) in a car park in Enville Street, Wollaston.

Marsden has now been charged with four counts of robbery and four counts of possessing an imitation firearm.

It follows four armed robberies at: a home in Enville Street, on 1 March; at Spar, Bridgnorth Road, on 29 March; at Tesco Express, Hagley Road, on 30 March and at Sainsbury's in High Street, Stourbridge, also on 30 March.

Marsden, of Enville Street, Wollaston appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A second man, aged 33, arrested yesterday (Tuesday) on suspicion of robbery, remains in custody today as an investigation continues.
