Local elections 2024: results for the West Midlands
Results are in for council elections across the West Midlands.

Votes have been counted across the West Midlands today following local elections on Thursday.
The first result to be declared was Redditch, with Labour taking control of the borough council for the first time since 2018.
They took 21 of the 27 seats, with the Conservatives holding onto five, and the Greens winning one.
The Conservatives have held control at both Walsall Council and Solihull Council, while Labour retained City of Wolverhampton Council.
A big win for Labour in Nuneaton and Bedworth, where they gained control from the Conservatives who had been in power since 2021.
Labour now have 20 seats after gaining 15, while the Tories lost 11 to leave them with 16.
In Sandwell, Labour extended their majority and retained control. Overall seats now stand at 65 Labour, 5 Conservative and 2 Independent.
Similarly in Coventry, it was more seats for Labour who extended their majority over the Conservatives. They now have 40 seats, with 12 Conservative and two Greens.
Labour gained Tamworth from no overall control, adding nine seats on the council to make a total of 18.
The Conservatives lost six, and Independents lost three.
Both Rugby Borough Council and Worcester City Council have no party in overall control.
Labour have the most seats in Worcester with 17 - the Greens have 12, Lib Dems have five, and Conservatives one.
Dudley Council is also under no overall control, after the Conservatives lost their hold. Both the Tories and Labour have 34 seats, the Lib Dems have three and one Independent.

As well as local council elections, people cast their votes for the next Mayor of the West Midlands. Those votes are being counted and declared on Saturday.
The police and crime commissioners for the West Midlands and Warwickshire forces will also be confirmed.
