A former West Midlands Police officer pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children at Dudley Magistrates Court yesterday.

Keel Walker joined the force in March last year as a student officer, however a warrant was executed at his home address by officers from our Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team (OCSET) the following month and a number of devices were seized.

The 21-year-old was immediately suspended from duty while an investigation was carried out. He was subsequently charged after he was found to have uploaded indecent images of children.

He appeared for an initial hearing at Dudley Magistrates Court on 17 Jan prior to the hearing yesterday. He has been placed on the Sex Offender Register and will be sentenced on 14 March.

The officer resigned from his post in September, however a misconduct hearing will be convened following sentencing.
