Emergency services remain on scene at Dudley reservoir where teen was last seen

Specialist officers are searching Lodge Farm Reservoir in Netherton, Dudley, after reports of a teenager getting into difficulty there.

Specialist teams are continuing to search Lodge Farm Reservoir after getting reports of a teenager in the water at around 6pm last night (23 July).

Highbridge Road is still closed and we're being urged to avoid the area.

A convoy or specialist officers and equipment arrived this morning as the search intensifies.

Paramedics treated a girl with an underlying health condition at the scene but she is thought to be ok now.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the teenage boy at this distressing time.”

West Midlands Fire Service called the situation "heart-breaking".

West Midlands Police said in a statement on their website: "We and the other emergency services are doing everything we can to support all those involved.

"We understand how distressing this is for the boy’s family and we’re grateful for the support offered from members of the community this evening.

We continue to ask the public to avoid the area to allow emergency services to respond."

West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire and Rescue, and West Midlands Ambulance Service are all on the scene.
