A Dudley teacher has been told he will never teach again after he was found to have been sending inappropriate messages to students.

31-year-old Ashley Nixon had been teaching at Peters Hill Primary School in Brierley Hill.

A panel found that he had failed to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

He had obtained the telephone number of two pupils and communicated with them on Snapchat, telephone and Instagram.

One student had obtained a '101 day streak' with Mr Nixon. That meant that the two had been communicating every day over that period.

It was later found that he had sent the two pupils inappropriate photos.

What's more, over Facetime, Nixon told pupils he was moving house and asked them to attend his new home.

They did not attend.

Finally, the panel found that this behaviour had been motivated by a sexual nature.

He was suspended from the school in October 2021.

The panel, on behalf of the Secretary of State, decided that he would never be allowed to teach again.

Including in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England.

He is also not permitted to apply for restoration of his eligibility to teach.

His teaching was terminated on the 29th October 2024.
