The family of a Shropshire man who died in a collision near Lichfield days before Christmas, have paid tribute to him.

64-year-old Mark Lucas was driving a pick-up truck when he collided with a tractor and lorry.

The incident took place on Watling Street, Weeford, at around 4.50pm on December 19th.

The drivers of the lorry and tractor were not injured, whilst Mark unfortunately died at the scene.

**_"We will always miss him"_**

His family described him as a ‘beloved husband, devoted father and besotted grandpa’, who was ‘dedicated to his family and friends’.

They also said: “he was a true outdoorsman, he had a thirst for adventure and was never happier than with his family on his boat, exploring in his Land Rover or out shooting in the fields.

“Always the first to help others, Mark will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and endless optimism that was infectious to all that knew him.

“The void that he leaves behind in our lives is too vast to put into words and too deep to ever be filled.

“We will always miss him.”

Specially trained officers at Staffordshire Police are supporting the family.

Meanwhile, they would like to speak to anyone travelling in the area at the time. Especially, if they saw the vehicles before the collision.
