Boy, 16, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Walsall disorder

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after four people were injured during armed disorder in Walsall

Four men were taken to hospital with injuries following reports of fighting and a gun being fired at a car in Reedswood Lane, Birchills, at around 11.50pm on Wednesday night (31 July)

Three men remain in hospital. None are believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

The boy was taken into custody this morning (2 August), as police continue to carry out enquiries.

A 26-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of wounding, has been bailed.

West Midlands Police said they believe others are involved, and are continuing to carry out CCTV - and other enquiries - to identify them.

In a statement, the force said: "We're working to establish why this happened and we'd ask anyone with information to speak to us. Such violence is unacceptable and won't be tolerated."
