Body found in search for missing 50-year-old near Oswestry

West Mercia Police say the body is yet to be identified as investigations continue into Pamela Wynne's disappearance

A body has been found in the search for missing 50-year-old Pamela Wynne.

In a statement, West Mercia Police say formal identification of the body has not yet taken place, but it was found near to where Pamela was last seen.

There was a large police presence in attendance at the location of the body yesterday as the search continued for Pamela - she had been missing since Wednesday afternoon.

Detective Inspector Richard Davies said: “Sadly officers carrying out searches in the location where Pamela was last seen have found the body of a woman.

"While formal identification has yet to take place her family has been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this time.”

They also say there are currently no suspicious circumstances believed to be involved in the death, or third party involvement.

Pamela’s family has been informed.
