The 20-year-old rider of an e-scooter - involved in a collision in Wolverhampton - has sadly died. West Midlands Police are re-appealing for information.

Shakur Pinnock suffered a serious head injury in the collision with a car in Prestwood Road last Saturday (12 June) and passed away in hospital on Friday (18 June). His 19-year old girlfriend, Chante Hoosang, who was a passenger on the e-scooter, was also seriously hurt and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the VW Golf involved in the collision remained at the scene and was not arrested.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes said: "Our thoughts remain with Shakur's family and friends at this distressing time.

"We are continuing with our enquiries to establish exactly what happened and would ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers or anyone who has any dash-cam footage around the time of the collision at 3.25pm on Saturday 12 June to get in contact.”

“It is important that we establish the facts and get the much needed answers for everyone involved.

"I can confirm that this was a private e-scooter but would ask that people do not speculate on the circumstances of the collision, especially on social media, as this does nothing to help the family, those involved or the investigation.”

Shakur's family is trying to raise money for his memorial - and to help Chante's rehabilitation - and has set up a crowdfunding page on Justgiving.com.
