Two men go on trial over Yannick Cupido murder in Caversham

The stabbing happened a few weeks into the new year

Two men have gone on trial over the murder of a 24-year-old man in the lower Caversham area of Reading earlier this year.

Yannick Cupido was stabbed shortly before 1am on 14th February and died in Managua Close in Caversham.

28-year old O'Neal Joseph of Amersham Road in Caversham is charged with murder, and 22-year-old Reece Weatherburn of Nire Road in Caversham is charged with two counts of assisting an offender, namely allowing O'Neal Joseph to use his house as an abode and providing false information to authorities. 

Both men deny the charges.

Yannick was attacked outside a shop in Nire Road in Caversham as he made his way to his mother's house he staggered to nearby Managua Close and died in the early hours of 14 February this year.

The start of the trial was delayed by legal argument and the poor health of one of the defendants.
