Hampshire woman who defrauded employer out of £500k jailed

A Farnborough woman who defrauded her employer out of more than half a million pounds has been jailed for four years.

5\1 year old Alida Ludewig was a finance manager at a hotel in Newbury used the company credit cards to purchase personal items to the total of £543,782.53.

She pleaded guilty to one count of fraud by abuse of position and was jailed at Reading Crown Court.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Claire Midwinter, said: “Alida Ludewig worked for Donnington Valley Hotel and Spa as the finance manager.

“Between 2018 and 2022, Ludewig used the company credit cards to purchase personal items to the total of £543,782.53.

“Ludewig was a trusted member of staff and her actions have had a massive detrimental impact on the company.”
