Woman punched in face in Inkpen during attempted robbery

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery which in Inkpen.

At around 5.10pm on Thursday (6th July) the victim, a woman in her sixties, was driving a grey Mercedes Benz along Folley Road when she stopped to speak to a man who was walking along the road.

The man told the victim and the passenger to get out of the car.

He pulled the door partially open and when victim pulled it back, he punched her twice in the face.

The passenger pulled the door shut and locked it, before they drove away.

The victim sustained bruising and swelling to her face, but did not require hospital treatment.

The offender is described as a man, with a beard, wearing a black tracksuit.

Investigating Officer, PC Christopher Tayler, based at Newbury police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who has any information which could help our investigation into this incident.
