Woman in life threatening condition after collision on A34

It happened near Newbury, just before 11 am on Friday morning

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision, which left a woman with serious injuries on the A34 near Newbury.

It happened just before 11 am (10.55) on Friday 11th November - when a white HGV and a pedestrian were involved in a collision on the southbound carriageway of the A34 near Newbury, between the A339 and the A4 Bath Road.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, sustained serious head and chest injuries and was taken to hospital where she remains in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the HGV was uninjured.

Investigating officer, PC Ian Baldwin, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.

“Also, we’d ask any drivers with dash-cams to check any footage in case it may have captured something that could help the investigation.
